On #Giving Tuesday, December 1st, 2015, CAGJ will use Good World’s new platform for making donations using Facebook and Twitter. We will encourage this method of giving through our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
What is Giving Tuesday?
#GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 by 92nd Street Y, based in NYC, in partnership with the United Nations Foundation as a new way of linking individuals and causes to strengthen communities and encourage giving. It is the biggest day of donations to non-profits all year, both in the US and globally.
How do donations through Good World work using #donate?
Donors sign up once, and it takes about 60 seconds; no additional forms necessary. Then, when you write #donate (plus a dollar amount) on Facebook or Twitter, the donation is automatically transferred from your account to CAGJ’s. CAGJ can receive donations this way any day of the year, not only on Giving Tuesday.
What is the Million Dollar Match?
For each of the first one million completed donations of $20 or more made to organizations using #donate on Facebook or Twitter between December 1 and 31, 2015, GoodWorld will donate $1 to the respective nonprofit.
