Join us on Saturday, August 1 for the 9th Annual Strengthening Local Economies Everywhere (SLEE) dinner! SLEE is so much more than just a delicious, locally sourced and Fair Trade meal – it is a community event where we inspire people to take action.Visit cagj.org/slee2015 to buy your tickets!

We are thrilled that Dean Jackson of Hilltop Urban Gardens (HUG) will be this year’s keynote. HUG has been building food sovereignty in Tacoma since 2010 through a neighborhood based food system. They are creating an exciting and unique new model in urban agriculture through a network of Urban Farms on the Hilltop. As a trans-identified food activist, Dean Jackson will share how their identity influences and shapes HUG’s food justice work for racial and economic justice.
