2018 Food Sovereignty Prize RSVP
Community to Community Development and US Food Sovereignty Alliance invite you to join us as for the celebration of the 9th annual Food Sovereignty Prize, awarded by the US Food Sovereignty Alliance (USFSA) to frontline organizations transforming our food system by building collective power and creating community-led solutions to poverty, hunger, and climate change.

Sunday, October 14th
5:30pm - AWARD CEREMONY @ Crystal Room at the Leopold, 1224 Cornwall Ave. Bellingham
7:30pm - RECEPTION & CULTURAL SPACE @ Happy Chap, 1215 Cornwall Ave. Bellingham

Black Mesa Water Coalition will be honored for their commitment in restoring indigenous food sovereignty and elevating youth leaders among Hopi and Navajo communities. In the international category, Organización Boricuá de Agricultura Ecológica de Puerto Rico will be recognized for their mobilization of Food Sovereignty Brigades to assist farmers with agroecological recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

The USFSA is an alliance of organizers, scholars, and working families dedicated to food justice and food sovereignty in the US. The Prize - an alternative to the corporate, Big Ag-sponsored World Food Prize - honors recipients who demonstrate how another world is possible and that solutions come from those most impacted by political, social, and environmental problems.
