People Over Profit! Seattle Peoples’ Summit Against APEC Defend the rights of workers, women, migrants, and our planet!
Register for the Peoples’ Summit: July 29 - 30
PNW-POP is organizing to ensure that large numbers of working people, climate activists and others are shining a spotlight on the Seattle APEC meetings to ensure that corporate lobbyists don’t get their way as they discuss agreements on women, the economy and the upcoming Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF). Sign up for the Peoples' Counter Summit against APEC happening Saturday July 29 - Sunday July 30 in Seattle! This will include a gathering to host discussions and make plans for regional and national organizing against APEC and other "free trade" bodies in the future. The weekend will also include an informal social event and a rally to protest the APEC ministerial meetings that will be beginning the same weekend in Seattle. APEC is an intergovernmental forum with the purpose of preserving the neoliberal status quo and serving state and corporate interests. APEC’s meetings will have a massive impact on jobs, wages, labor rights, climate action, consumer privacy and corporate monopoly power both at home and abroad for decades to come. The press release announcing Seattle as the location for this crucial meeting specifically referenced it being chosen because it is the home to so many big corporations and lobby groups — such as Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing and others. REGISTER HERE & Help us raise essential funds to make this event possible! PNW-POP Merch: Pre-order now. Host a Workshop: Host a workshop at the People's Counter Summit Against APEC to build a movement highlighting the struggles and resistance of workers, migrants, women, and many others in the face of corporate-government collusion.
