SAT May 14, Teach-Out! Seattle Youth Garden Works during Spring into Bed!

Teach-Out Work Party 10 am-2pm, Celebration at Pratt Park 3-6 pm!

CAGJ is partnering with Seattle Youth Garden Works for our May Teach-Out as part of the 2nd annual County-wide garden-build, Spring Into Bed! Seattle Youth Garden Works, now housed at Seattle Tilth, empowers homeless and underserved youth through garden-based education and employment. At Seattle Youth Garden Works, agriculture and enterprise combine to create a practical and meaningful employment experience for youth. People from diverse backgrounds come together to grow food, and in the process develop personal connections to the food system.

Spring into Bed is a day of action and celebration building our just and thriving local food system organized by the Just Garden Project, and fiscally sponsored by Seattle Tilth. On Saturday, May 14, 2011, over 500 volunteers will work together in 30+ food gardens throughout King County!

**Please note, space is limited, so RSVP’s are required. To sign up email Erica at [email protected]. We will send you directions and details upon receiving your RSVP, as well as information about what to wear and bring. All activities will be appropriate for children and we can work out disability accommodations if needed.
